This amazing pool on the rooftop, followed by the wonderful hills, has been built in Teramo, in the delightful Abruzzo.
The owners contacted us via the technical office they relied on.
The challenge was pretty complex: building a pool on a rooftop at the fourth floor, situated in a high-risk earthquake site.
The technical office provided us the idea they and their clients were planning to build, and we interfaced with them providing all the information on installations, optimal distribution of the spaces, volumetry and so on…
The project was carried out in full collaboration and it required a precise analysis of the technical details that, of course, involved an expert engineer.
The construction needed an adjustment of the structure of the roof, installing steel-beams able to sustain the additional weight of the water.
The math was done considering the geographic position of the site, as it is a high earthquake zone, next to ‘L’acquila’.
And we also needed to take into account the fact that so much water at the fourth floor reacts differently compared to a normal inground-pool. The structure also need to handle the undulating and wave motions of the water.
It’s obvious that this kind of job requires a lot of experience and a precise study of the surrounding environment. It also requires a safe working method (and we are the only one to own the TUV certification).
To not mention the manual skills to assist the search of new specific solutions to fulfill the special needs of the customer.
Professione Piscina luckily acquired all of this skills thanks to our experience gathered in so many years of hard working, especially our specific knowledge on the impermeability, isolation and drainage.

A normal rooftop was transformed into a convivial and relaxing space, developed on different levels with different altitudes, creating a dynamic area but also with different functions (relax area and pool area), balanced together, fully enjoying the roof in a harmonious and practical way.
The materials chosen are composite wood for the floor and the pool’s external paneling, and the light marble for the pool, while we went for a glass safe parapet to not ruin the landscape and to offer a better view on the landscape.
